UPDATE: Limbo apologizes...He did what?!?

When Rush Limbaugh apologized to Sandra Fluke for denouncing her as a "slut" and a "prostitute", you had to conclude three things: It was getting too hot in the kitchen with sponsors pulling ads from his radio show, that his lawyer framed the apology, and that it was Saturday afternoon when many Americans were at basketball games or shopping the malls and not paying attention. .

But the retreat only made him look like the greater monster that he is. He said: "I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke"

Since Wednesday, as his Republican friends raced to find cover, he not only called the Georgetown law student (who testified before Rep. Nancy's Pelosi's committee on birth control) those slanderous names but alleged that she was sexually promiscuous and wants to be paid by insurance companies to have sex" - so much so, he said, "it's amazing that she can still walk."

You can see, I'm sure, that he was only kidding when , as he put it, "I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation" - even, I suppose when he referred to her as an "anti-
Catholic plant."

Finally he humbled himself by explaining: "My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices."

Sorry, Rush. We heard you the first time.

UPDATE
A Statement from David Friend, CEO of Carbonite as of 6:45pm ET, March 3:
“No one with daughters the age of Sandra Fluke, and I have two, could possibly abide the insult and abuse heaped upon this courageous and well-intentioned young lady. Mr. Limbaugh, with his highly personal attacks on Miss Fluke, overstepped any reasonable bounds of decency. Even though Mr. Limbaugh has now issued an apology, we have nonetheless decided to withdraw our advertising from his show. We hope that our action, along with the other advertisers who have already withdrawn their ads, will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse.”

Rush Limbaugh was definitely out of line calling that woman a slut and I am glad that he apologized. But all you can do is laugh at the ridiculous overreaction and selective outrage from liberals.

I was listening to Rush's show on Friday and he played audio of David Letterman calling Sarah Palin "slutty", Bill Maher calling Palin a "slut" and the "C" word, Ed Schultz on MSNBC referring to various women as "sluts" and "bimbos". The DailyBeast.com has a story on their website today pointing out numerous other examples of liberals degrading women. Obviously none of those stories made national news nor did anyone try to force them off the air.

Liberals really aren't concerned about sexism on the broadcast airwaves. They just want to force people with whom they disagree off the air.

OxycontinRush only spewed this pseudo-apology due to hemorrhaging sponsors.

Regardless of "Dittohead" RyanFan's downplaying of the situation it is only what can be expected from a smarmy, pompous, egomaniacal, gas-bag such as Limbaugh, who, truth be known, is only in it for the money.

Limbaugh isn't really concerned about this country, just his bank accounts.

Nothing "personal," Rush -- but you are a boorish, misogynistic blabbermouth whose shameful abuse of his First Amendment rights has clearly revealed you for the arch-propagandist you are.

Egregious, I don't think you'll find anyone here defending Maher's rude name calling.
We're more fond of calling Palin a "grifter".
Now, what do you think of that definition?
Fair enough?
