Cleveland Indians: 0-162?

BASEBALL IS NOTHING if it isn't acres of statistical projections.  So as a Pirates fan well adjusted to losing seasons, I think it's important to note that the Cleveland Indians have opened the season with five losses and nary a win.  Based on my carefully researched theory of relativity between the Pirates and Indians,  if you project the Tribe's 0-5 record to date, it would be fair to project the possibility that the team will lose all of its 162 games this year.  Of course, if it happens to win tomorrow's game, it improves the final projection to a more socially acceptable 26-136.  (I may be off a game or two because I'm not good at math.)  Never lose hope even if your team is forever losing  games.  I hope this is helpful to get you through the remaining cold days of spring until you can get out into the yard to project the grubs that will strike next.

What will come first....Andy Laroche of the Pirates getting a hit or the Indians getting a win?

C'mon. The same rules of projection hold for both Andy and the Indians. Andy being hitless so far this season, it demands a projection of 0-400 for the season. As you can see, he and the Indians are tied. To take this to wherever it wants to go, Cliff Lee will be 0-23 this year and the Browns' offense will be held scoreless next season. I'm only doing the math, folks. .

Laroche going 0-400 supposes he will get 400 at bats when in fact he would be released well before that happened.....on the other hand the Indians are contractually obligated to play all 162.

You obviously have not followed the logic of statistical projections. I am an empiricist who must deal only with evidence that exists at this moment and not with speculation that Andy will be released at some point before 400 at-bats. If and when that happens, I'll get back to you with new numbers. (Anybody else can get in on this if the spirit moves you with fresh data.)

Come on you guys, forget statistical projections--As a staunch Indians fan, they will survive and win the Central Division...that's my prediction.

Well the Indians get a win but Laroche comes up empty again...the dream lives on.
