Frank Comunale, Ohio Senate candidate

YOU CAN expect an an official announcement soon from Democrat Frank Comunale that he will be a candidate for the Ohio Senate seat  now held by Republican Kevin Coughlin, a term-limit victim.  Comunale is a Summit County Councilman and will be running in the 27th Senate District that gerrymandering has well-protected the Republican interests.  "It's a daunting task," Comunale told me, saying he is currently going about the business of raising money for  the campaign.  One look at the 27th reveals a district that looks much like a Rorschack Test defined by a bunch of tipsy legislators on New Year's Eve.  Although it is heavily centered in Summit county, it also has a gaping  jagged gulf  in the middle left to Portage County, thereby eliminating a lot of Akron Democratic voters.  The last word from Republican chairman Alex Arshinkoff is that the party is looking  at several potential candidates.

Frank Comunale doesn't stand a chance in this race

Agreed. No one knows this guy outside of Akron political circles.

Frank LaRose Jr. will be the Republican candidate for this Senate seat. LaRose is obviously the son of Frank LaRose Sr. of the House of LaRose Beer & Wine wholesaler. I believe Jr. is member of the Marine Corps. and has just returned from Iraq.

If thats the case, Republicans will hold this seat.

I was in the Army with Frank years back. I have lost touch him, but recently ran into him on face book. He had very strong sense of right and wrong and very high morals. His sense of duty stood out. I spent about 6 months with him in Kosovo years back. Even in the short period of time that I knew him it was obvious that he was a very good person.

I don't live in Ohio or anywhere close so I can’t vote for him but I would strongly recommend you throw your vote his way.

From my experience, Frank Comunale is an honest upfront honest guy and I wish him the best. Genuine people are hard to find.

We need someone with his leadership qualities in Ohio State Senate.

That said, I respect LaRoses military service but his political experience just does not match up.

Over three decades have passed, but I recall my introduction to Francis Communale Jr, as if it were yesterday. I knew him as "Coach" Communale, a man hell-bent on becoming the best assistant basketball coach in America.Within two seasons, "Coach" had achieved his goal, sparking the Vols to their first national television appearance and the cover of Sports Illustrated.
Coach pours heart and soul into everything he does. I'll never forget Black Gold, the 1924 Kentucky derby chwill not be satisfied to be the besr=t senator iampion racehorse that was the subject of his enthralling lecture to us teenage basketball campers at the prestigious Webb School of Knoxville.
Good people of Ohio, I assure you that Coach Communale will strive to be the best state senator in
America!

Very impressed with Frank LaRose and will vote for him in this race. Not sure Communale can stand up for keeping government out of our business.

If I lived in this district, I'd vote for Comunale. He has the experience, where as Frank LaRose holds no political experience whatsoever, and we've seen the disasterous results lack of experience can have(i.e. Sarah Palin).

Republicans just want less government, because with the way they govern, everything goes to hell.

I have met Frank Comunale many times and believe him to be a well-intentioned and capable politician. But too often I believe valuable candidates for public office are over looked due to a lack of "political experience". What is this elusive concept? If defined narrowly as experience within government, our choices would be limited to many of the types of individuals that the citenzry is often up in arms about: political opportunists. If political experience is instead understood to be the ability to selfishly advocate for others, to responsibly manage resources toward acheiving a particular goal, and to effectively motivate others to support your position, many other candidates are worthy of consideration for public office. And that includes many of our accomplished servicemen and women.

We the Hispanics of the Summit County are for Mr. LaRose for State Senate.

How can one hispanic speak for the rest in this district? or are you the only one out of the group who is actually a REGISTERED VOTER with actual US CITIZENSHIP. Also if you truly are of Hispanic decent... you should probably try to keep as many democrats in office as you possibly can as the republican candidates will be sending your relatives back to the other side of the fence that we are going to build.
