Another Romney moment for the grandchildren's scrapbook
Couldn't resist this slice of life from the Romney annals. It's Romeo and, um, Jezebel in a most friendly moment, although I'm not sure that she is entirely swept up by Mitt's fixed smile. (In case you are wondering, she is the Arizona governor who used another close-up photo to point an accusatory finger at President Obama upon his airport arrival.)

Jon Kyl Returns as a GOP Ill-Humor Man
Arizona Republican Sen. Jon Kyl continues to operate in a parallel universe when he tries to explain complex issues. For example, Talking Points Memo reports that Kyl blames President Obama for President Bush's failure to enact the White House's immigration reform bill in 2007. One problem: As senator, Obama voted for the bill; Kyl joined the filibuster against it.
Why do I get worked up about his nonsense? Well, I must remind myself that Kyl was the pathetic guy who accused Planned Parenthood of devoting more than 90 pct.. of its activities to abortions. When the number splattered in his face (3 pct. is more like it), a Kyl spokseman said the senator's comment was"not intended to be a factual statement".
Bulletin;
Kyl is now suggesting that Obama should be impeached for his new immigration policy. How can such a beautiful state be corrupted by screwies like Kyl and, for that matter, Gov. Jan Brewer? And for that matter, Sheriff Joe Arpaio. And...that's more than enough already. .

The R's and D's of Arizona immigration law
POLITiCAL AFFILIATION continues to drive a broadening wedge in America. Exhibit No. 1 is from a poll by the Arizona Republic on the eve of the activation of the controversial new immigration law in that state. The figures: 88 pct. of registered Republican voters support the law; Democrats, 30 pct. According to the Phoenix newspaper,
"Nearly half of those polled believe the law has made Latinos more likely to be discriminated against andthat the debate has exposed a deeper sense of racism here. A smaller number 36 pct., reject those ideas."...[The poll] suggested that the voters' views "depend heavily on political affiliation, age, income, gender and ethnicity."
In other news from the Grand Canyon State, Gov.Jan Brewer has triggered the closing of half of the state's parks in the wake of Arizona's critical economic troubles.
